Time flies. JAS passed away.
Looking back at my blog posts, I feel a great sense of achievement.
An achievement, that I made it through JAS.
An achievement, that I started blogging and writing.
An achievement, that I have grown through this short span of time.
Hardly had I any time to sit back, and admire the achievements I have made.
Communication.
It has always been my dream to write. To communicate my feelings through words and stories. To share with everyone my imagination, and the world that lives within me.
Most importantly, I learnt to think before I write. Previous attempts were futile, as ideas flowed from my mind uncensored and uncut. I'm still trying. But looking back at my blog posts, I'm glad I made improvement. My previous blog post a far cry from my virgin post.
Yes. It was the first blog post of my life.
Indirectly, it affected the way I communicated with people around me. A conscious effort would be made to think before I speak. Not to hurt my listener. At the same time, feel for the listener and be in their shoes.
Not my best, but I managed to do it.
Teamwork.
"We live together.
We die together.
Bad boys for life." - Bad Boys II (2003)
Love the teams I were in for this JAS. Witty, fun and nice to be around with. No new topics learnt here. But many friendships made and bonds forged. Going through the next 3 years together. Enough said.
I hope I had left a similar impression on my group mates.
I feel that I could have done better in carrying out my tasks during these group assignments. Careless mistakes, punctuality issues and lame excuses plagued my group projects.

At the end of the day. Or in this case, JAS. I would have to buck up. Taking down notes and checking my work before sharing would have reduced all these problems.
I will do my best. I promise.
Overall.
Not too shabby. We survived. Scathed but smiling. Sufficient hope for us to push on with our grueling course.
Considering that there were no tutorials, and lessons were enjoyable discussions. It was definitely a break from the other energy sapping modules we were taking.
You will not be hearing the last of me. I swear.
Till then, good luck for your exams! And to my tutors, please go easy on us...
:)

ReplyDeleteHi ChenYang,
ReplyDeleteMy first blog comment for your post! You are still quite a quiz to me, its quite hard trying to figure out what one is thinking about when he/she stays quiet in a conversation. Thinking back, I do not think I have been a good leader for the CG1102 programming group with you. To be honest, I have learned quite a fair bit of stuff from you.
I do hope to continue hearing from you out of classes. You have written a good reflections for the entire course on your last blog post =) Good luck and all the best in the upcoming examinations.
Regards,
Kai Yang
Hey ChenYang,
ReplyDeleteIt's always FUN to read your posts. I hope you do continue writing, and putting down your thoughts in this blog.
Regarding the CG1413 journey, yes indeed it's been great. We've all worked together and had our bit of fun in the process too. I still remember all of us, running around the campus, trying to get the interview from Prof. Tan:).....
And if it were not for you I would have not understood cloud computing at all. Thanks to you, patiently explaining everything from scratch, each of us had a better idea while preparing for the presentation. That's what teamwork's all about!
All the best for your future endeavors.
Cheers,
Sasha
Hi, Chenyang!
ReplyDeleteI can’t believe that this is your first blog! Hahaz. You have done a great job in influencing your readers by your emotional words. I think we have one thing in common: this is my first ENGLISH blog!
As classmate in CG1413, you have leaded me in finishing the problem solving project, with an absolutely difficult and advancing topic. Although we did not perform well, I still learnt a lot through it.
As group mate in CG1108, you have helped me completing the line tracking car and provided a lot of insightful and creative ideas, which were really helpful to improve the performance of our car. Eventually, we made it!
Hope that we can cooperate again. All the best in exams!
Cheers,
Jackie
Hey ChenYang,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree what a gruelling semester it was! Unlike the first semester, the workload for this semester is certainly heavier than the previous semester. Not to mention the amount of projects where a lot of teamwork is involved (like CG1413). With that said, it certainly is a feat that we are able to overcome such a hectic semester. Many mistakes are made, but at the same time many lessons are also learnt. And by continuously learning from our mistakes, we will then be able to improve.
I also do agree with you that the tutorials for this module is more interesting than many of the modules that we are taking this semester; discussions and activities make the 2 hours long tutorials not as boring as it seems. There are many lessons that I have trouble trying to stay awake; but this is surely not one of them.
With that said, good luck and see you again next semester. =)
Cheers,
Yifan
